Our community’s agricultural base is still our most significant industry; however, over the past decade, the diversity of “crops” has grown.

While corn, soybean, cattle and hogs maintain a significant presence, forest products, from hardwood veneers and lumber to wood by-products, flourish. Vineyards, orchards, fisheries and shrimp farms, beekeeping, sheep and llama ranches, and farms that specialize in Christmas trees, herbs, and even honey, have all added to a diversified base and are becoming noteworthy components, as well.

We will be posting events and locations that showcase these products.
